CEH and CPA Join Forces to Host BizNGO 2022

The Center for Environmental Health (CEH) will join Clean Production Action (CPA) as a co-host of BizNGO’s 17th Annual Meeting on December 6-7, 2022. BizNGO is a trusted forum for open and honest discussions across businesses, advocacy organizations, investors, and governments on how to accelerate progress towards a safer chemicals and sustainable materials economy.

CEH and CPA each have decades of proven track records in shifting markets by working with brands, retailers, health care, governments, investors, and NGOs to replace toxic chemicals with safer solutions.

For over 20 years, CEH and CPA have worked collaboratively to accelerate the movement to safer solutions to toxic chemicals in health care, electronics, furniture and fabrics, and more recently food service ware. Together, we created the most comprehensive environmental health third-party certification for disposable foodware—GreenScreen Certified™ Standard for Food Service Ware. And now, we are thrilled to expand on our partnership to co-host BizNGO’s annual meeting.

This year’s theme is “Safer Solutions to PFAS & Beyond.” The agenda includes:

    • Integrating Environmental Justice into Business Policies & Practices
    • Leading Regulations to Eliminate PFAS in Europe and the US
    • Learning lessons from PFAS Elimination: The compelling yet challenging journey to fluorine free firefighting foam
    • Testing for PFAS: defining pragmatic test methods and thresholds for product testing
    • Defining Proactive Chemicals Management Leadership through Key Performance Indicators
    • Setting & Measuring Progress to Chemical Footprint Reduction Goals

Past attendees of BizNGO include representatives from Levi’s, Seventh Generation, Kaiser Permanente, Hewlett Packard, Whole Foods, Naturepedic, Mind the Store Campaign, Campaign for Healthier Solutions, and more. As one attendee described it, the conference is:

A very invaluable experience to collaborate and gather insight and tools from other manufacturers and NGOs moving toward green chemistry and disclosure. Having new and experienced sustainability leaders all in one room discussing corporate chemicals policies was especially helpful for a manufacturer or retailer beginning the journey towards transparency.”
