Mining in Tibet

As Tibetans mark the 50th anniversary of the failed uprising that forced the Dalai Lama into exile, many are also struggling with the environmental impact of heavy mining by Chinese companies. Mining can poison Tibetan water sources, harm livestock and restrict their pastures, further marginalizing the indigenous economy.
