We ReUse’s New Reusable Cafeteria Tray Shows Growing Demand for CEH’s GreenScreen Certified Standard
We’re giving a big shutout to We ReUse — the latest company to achieve our GreenScreen Certified standard for reusable foodware!
We developed this rigorous standard in partnership with Clean Production Action to help consumers and institutional purchasers identify foodware that does NOT contain toxic PFAS and thousands of other chemicals of concern.
We ReUse joins Ahimsa as the second company to manufacture reusable school cafeteria trays that use inherently safer chemical ingredients, giving purchasers multiple options and availability for ensuring that children and students eat their meals using the safest possible foodware on the market.
This demonstrates excellent proof of concept for our GreenScreen Certified standard, and CEH is excited for the future of non-toxic reuse as we continue to support cafeterias, restaurants, and other food vendors in their reusable foodware journey. We encourage all foodware manufacturers that want to make safer products undergo this certification process! And if you’re working on creating a safer product of your own, let us know.
We’re scaling up our efforts for the 2025-2026 school year and are on track to serve 3 million meals on reusables. But we can have even greater impact with your help — whether it’s through starting a reuseable program near you with our Ditching Disposables toolkit or making a donation so we can protect more children from toxic chemicals by giving schools the tools they need to serve school meals safely on reusable foodware.
