What do laptops, couches, and airplanes all have in common?
Flame retardants. These chemicals are in a ton of consumer products, but they’re not so good for your health. Flame retardant chemicals can easily move from a product onto our skin.
A recent scientific study has shown that increased household cleaning or hand washing (or both! ) can reduce your exposure to flame retardants by half. Removing dust and washing hands before eating are key in reducing the amount of chemicals you’re exposed to. A new reason for spring cleaning!
